Job Description

FoodieLand is the leading food festival producer in the United States. Operating over 15+ events with a total attendance of over 1M annually.

The Public Relations Specialist will be responsible for managing the company's public relations strategy, with a focus on media relations and copywriting. This role involves creating compelling written content for various channels, and collaborating closely with the marketing team to ensure consistent messaging across all communications. The ideal candidate should have excellent writing skills, a creative mindset, and experience working in PR and marketing settings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement PR strategies to elevate the company’s brand and reputation.
  • Write clear, engaging copy for press releases, blog posts, media kits, and other PR and copywriting materials.
  • Collaborate closely with the marketing team to align PR efforts with broader marketing initiatives and campaigns.
  • Craft consistent messaging for both internal and external communications, ensuring alignment with brand voice.
  • Manage media relationships, including pitching stories to journalists, coordinating press events, and organizing interviews.
  • Monitor media coverage, track PR campaign performance, and adjust strategies as needed.
  • Respond to media inquiries.
  • Create content for social media, newsletters, and website updates in collaboration with the marketing team.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and competitor activities to ensure the company’s PR strategies remain relevant and effective.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Communications, Marketing, Journalism, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in public relations, copywriting, or communications, preferably in a marketing-driven environment.
  • Strong writing and editing skills, with a portfolio of copywriting examples.
  • Experience working in a collaborative team environment, particularly with marketing professionals.
  • Familiarity with media monitoring tools and press release distribution services.
  • Knowledge of SEO and digital marketing principles is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
