Overview

ESI is seeking a talented Project Controls Specialist to join our team in Kennesaw, Georgia. This position requires a Bachelor of Science in Engineering or Construction and a minimum of 5 years of Project Controls Experience in a heavy industrial construction setting.

Project Controls Specialist

Responsibilities:

  • Work with design, supply-chain, manufacturing and construction teams to optimize end-to-end project schedules
  • Work with business intelligence team to use productivity data to drive schedule durations
  • Update project schedules weekly
  • Lead monthly update meetings and review sessions
  • Review and verify information from project team via video conference and potential site visits as needed
  • Work with the sales engineers to develop study and proposal schedules quickly and effectively
  • Provide support to teams in assessing/documenting delays and impacts, alternate work plans and methods of construction
  • Prepare a schedule update report narrative for each schedule update which describes the status of project milestones, describes any deviations from a previous update and identifies any critical schedule issues
  • Develop earned value, manpower and commodity installation reports
  • Create reports and layouts which meet specific reporting requirements
  • Provide scheduling assistance and education to project team members and direction to scheduling engineers
  • Review, monitor and critique the accuracy and feasibility of all schedules utilizing several tools including Acumen Fuse
  • Utilize available databases to monitor, track and report on project status for cost, manpower and schedule metrics
  • Track onsite job performance for all construction projects and determine best practices for reporting leading indicators of critical areas prior to major issues arising
  • Establish and maintain positive and effective working relationships with department, employees, clients, architects, subcontractors and vendors
  • Participate in process improvement and lessons learned process
  • Suggest corrective actions and/or develop recovery plans when delays are anticipated or occur
  • Perform schedule claims analysis including creating an as-built schedule, identifying concurrent delays, abnormal weather delays, etc. to assist the PM in preparing a response to the contractors request for a time extension
  • Conduct a detailed review of the Engineer's and Contractor's CPM schedule submission each month and provide a written report to the PM on all significant variances
  • Prepare post construction as-built schedules and lessons learned reports
  • Travel to the field as needed throughout the duration of the project

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering or Construction Management
  • A minimum of 5 years of Project Controls Experience in a heavy industrial construction setting.
  • Proficient in creating and managing schedules using Primavera P6
  • Self-starter with a track record of meeting deadlines
  • Experience with 4D scheduling, InEight Estimating (formally Hard Dollar), SQL, Power BI and Acumen Fuse are a PLUS
