The Construction Coordinator oversees construction contractors for capital project execution at the Ashtabula Complex to effectively meet project needs for safety, environmental control, cost control, and productivity. They work with the Project Managers, Engineers and contractors to resolve any construction issues. This is a salaried exempt position. It is classified as a Safety Critical role.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Participate in project development activities and constructability reviews
  • Manage the contractor leads, labor resources, equipment and rental cranes with Plant Operations/Maintenance groups based on priorities and material availability for the Ashtabula Complex
  • Plan, coordinate and monitor the activities of the construction teams of assigned projects to ensure output targets, functional specifications, action item response, customer service expectations and quality requirements are met
  • Develop project action plans and scheduling targets with input from all team members to satisfy the needs of key stakeholders (Ops, Maintenance, Reliability, Engineering)
  • Issue work permits for contracted project services
  • Complete field checks of construction activities and construction work to verify the contractors are knowledgeable of mechanical construction techniques
  • Ensure contract services are performed in accordance with INEOS’s policies and procedures and that all construction work meets codes by utilizing project P&ID’s, mechanical isometrics and detailed drawings
  • Address work issues and progress gaps as necessary
  • Manage contractors to minimize costs through coordinating activities and communicating with Project Managers, auditing timesheets/overtime, managing scope changes and perform field quality checks to reduce rework
  • Keep project managers and discipline engineers informed in a timely manner
  • Work to make sure communications are passed throughout the organization; keep leadership abreast of barriers and critical paths; solicit support as needed
  • Work to raise the level of contractor performance by effective training, field auditing, sharing of information and upholding high expectations.
  • Assist in troubleshooting and problem solving throughout the Complex
  • Recommends improvements in equipment, work methods and/or processes
  • All other projects as assigned

About You

You should possess:

  • Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • 8-10 years of supervisory or leadership experience in plant maintenance and/or construction preferred
  • Detailed knowledge of chemical plant operations and/or maintenance is a plus
  • Must be able to read blueprints and P&ID’s
  • Knowledge and understanding of contracts
  • Functionality with various computer programs, or ability to learn Microsoft Office Suite and SAP
  • Functionality with various computer programs (SAP, word, excel, etc.)

Schedule/Hours

This is a salaried exempt, day shift position.
