Job Title: Ultrasound Technologist (Contract)

Location: North Bergen, NJ

Pay Rate: $50 – $60 per hour (based on experience)

Job Type: Contract | Local or Travel

Shift: Monday – Friday | 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Weekly Hours: 40

Position Overview:

A respected healthcare facility in North Bergen, NJ is seeking a qualified and experienced Ultrasound Technologist to join their Diagnostic Imaging Department. This is a full-time contract opportunity ideal for a motivated technologist skilled in performing comprehensive ultrasound procedures in a high-volume clinical environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform routine and advanced ultrasound exams, including abdominal, pelvic, portable, and Doppler imaging

  • Ensure high diagnostic quality by maintaining proper technique and equipment calibration

  • Prepare and position patients, providing clear instructions and ensuring a safe, comfortable experience

  • Assist with interventional procedures such as biopsies and deep abdominal studies

  • Document findings and images accurately using EMR systems (e.g., EPIC) and PACS

  • Maintain cleanliness, functionality, and sterility of equipment and procedural areas

  • Support education and training efforts for junior technologists, residents, or students

  • Practice clear and compassionate communication with patients, tailored to developmental and cultural needs

  • Adhere to hospital safety protocols and follow AIDET standards during patient interactions

  • Participate in holiday, weekend, and on-call rotations as needed; occasional overtime may be required

Required Qualifications:
  • Graduate of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography or Ultrasound program

  • ARDMS certification (Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer) – Required

  • BLS/CPR certification from AHA – Required

  • Proficient in ultrasound physics and cross-sectional anatomy

  • Experience with hospital EMR systems and digital imaging documentation

  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs., push/pull up to 50 lbs., and stand for extended periods

  • Excellent teamwork, problem-solving, and interpersonal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Minimum 1 year of clinical ultrasound experience

  • Experience in portable imaging and ultrasound-guided interventional procedures
