Job Description

Salary: 120,000 - 140,000 USD per year Requirements:

  • I hold a Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science or a related technical discipline.
  • I have over 4 years of experience in deploying, administering, and troubleshooting large-scale distributed systems.
  • I possess more than 4 years of experience in automation programming, fluent in one or more of the following languages: Python, Go, Rust, or JavaScript (with priority given to Python and Go).
  • I have at least 4 years of experience working with Linux terminal tools and writing shell scripts in a Linux environment.
  • I have a strong understanding of SLAs, SLOs, and Service Level Indicators (SLIs).
  • I maintain extensive knowledge of public cloud services, including AWS, GCP, and Azure.
  • I have a deep understanding of Unix/Linux operating systems internals and administration (Debian preferred but not required).
  • I am well-versed in networking concepts (e.g., TCP/IP, routing, network topologies, hardware).
  • I have a proven ability to debug and optimize code and automate routine tasks.
  • I possess excellent problem-solving, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
  • I have experience in Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), including monitoring and alert creation/tuning.
  • I am willing to work West Coast hours (9 AM - 6 PM PST).
  • I am available to participate in on-call rotations to support troubleshooting and communication efforts outside of regular business hours.
Responsibilities:
  • I monitor system performance to identify areas for improvement and implement solutions that enhance system reliability and availability.
  • I collaborate with architecture and development teams to make applications reliable, performant, and scalable on a global scale.
  • I work closely with product owners to implement and monitor key metrics that meet Service Level Objectives (SLOs) and Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
  • I troubleshoot and resolve production issues in collaboration with the development team.
  • I drive root cause analysis (RCA) of production issues and failures within the supported application software stack.
  • I design, build, and champion automated solutions to optimize uptime with minimal human intervention.
  • I develop tools and processes to effectively monitor cloud resources and applications.
  • I utilize Kubernetes for deploying platform services.
  • I establish and enforce standards and best practices for reliability across development teams and external vendors as applicable.
