Job Duties

  • With general autonomy, lead, mentor, and develop a team of regulatory specialists responsible for compliance activities across global markets
  • Provide direction to ensure timely completion of regulatory documentation and submissions
  • Serve as the escalation point for complex chemical compliance issues
  • Oversee chemical registrations, notifications, and pre-manufacture submissions under TSCA, REACH, and other country-specific regimes
  • Ensure SDSs and labels are compliant with GHS and regional adaptations (e.g., OSHA HCS, WHMIS, EU CLP)
  • Collaborate with HSE, R&D, supply chain, commercial, and legal departments to ensure regulatory alignment
  • Respond to internal and external customer inquiries regarding product compliance and regulatory status
  • Track and interpret emerging chemical regulations relevant to business operations
  • Lead regulatory document control and review processes for SDSs, product labels, and transportation classifications
  • Maintain and improve compliance tools and systems
  • Develop and deliver training programs on chemical compliance and hazard communication for internal stakeholders

Qualifications

  • Requires an undergraduate degree in a Science, Engineering, or related discipline and at least 8 years of relevant experience
  • At least 2 years of supervisory experience, preferred
  • Deep understanding of global regulatory frameworks (e.g., TSCA, REACH, GHS, etc)
  • Experience supporting compliance in Middle East, Latin America, or Asia-Pacific oilfield markets, preferred
  • Experience working with oilfield service companies or specialty chemical manufacturers, preferred
  • Professional certification preferred
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Experience with SDS authoring, chemical classification, and regulatory database tools
  • Detail-oriented with ability to manage complex, multi-region compliance projects
  • Familiarity with oilfield operations is strongly preferred
