Job Description

A growing, publicly traded REIT is looking to bring on a Senior Counsel, Transactions to join their legal team in New York City. There is an immediate need to bring somebody on board who will report to the General Counsel. In this role the candidate should have a strong background with acquisitions and dispositions related to shopping centers.

Qualifications and Responsibilities of the Senior Counsel, Transactions

• JD from a top-tier law school with a strong academic background
• 5+ years of relevant experience in transactional and commercial real estate law, gained at a law firm and/or in-house
• Specific experience in retail and shopping center transactions required
• Proven capability to manage high-pressure situations and a diverse, high-volume workload while maintaining professionalism.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills, capable of effectively interacting with colleagues at all organizational levels
• Demonstrated ability to independently handle the structuring, drafting, negotiation, management, and closing of complex real estate acquisitions and dispositions.
• Management experience preferred
• 3 days a week in office
