Job Title: RN/LPN School Nurse (PDN)

Location: Milwaukee, WI 53216

Type: 3+ Months (possibility for conversion)

Schedule: 8 hrs. a day / M – F / 40 hrs. /week.

Hourly Pay: $50 - $58 (RN) & $40 - $45 (LPN)

Job Description:

• Provide basic healthcare to students in case of injury or acute illness
• Develop health plans for students with chronic illnesses and disabilities
• Educate students and staff on healthy habits, such as proper nutrition and hygiene
• Detect health problems in early stages through regular screenings
• Keep track of students' vaccination records and update, verify medical history
• Ensure school environment is safe for children and school staff (e.g. prevention of communicable diseases).
• Write referrals for pediatricians and other health specialists.
• Ensure compliance with national and local health laws.
• Conducting student hearing and vision screenings.
• Educating students on hygiene and safety practices.
• Dispensing prescription medications to students per physician instructions.
• Taking students' temperatures when fever is suspected.
• Administering first aid and CPR.
• Treating minor injuries such as cuts, scrapes and bruises.
• Contacting parents when students are ill or injured.

Requirements:

• The nurse must have an ADN for LPN and BSN for RN or higher.
• Prefer Candidate having an experience, preferably in school setting, pediatric, but will take private duty, LTAC and Hospital exp.

Certifications/Licenses:

• RN/LPN License
• BLS
• Ventilator/Tracheostomy Certification is a must.
• Valid Driving License
• Covic Card
