Job Description

S chool Based Counselor Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in human service or behavioral science with one (1) year of experience in the field of chemical dependence or mental health treatment.
  • Valid State of Ohio LPC or LSW licensure with one (1) year of paid full-time experience in the field of chemical dependency or mental health treatment or equivalent required.

School Based Counselor Job Description

Under direction of the Clinical Supervisor, the School Based Counselor will complete multiple screening tools to assess for most appropriate level of care. Identify any barriers to client and families attending ongoing counseling appointments and facilitating resolution of those barriers acting in the consumer’s best interest at all times. The School Based Counselor will coordinate and monitor appropriateness of all services. Will provide assistance in crisis situations to stabilize consumer and maintain consumer in the least restrictive treatment setting. Will provide consultation to teaching staff when requested, conducts emergency intakes and completes assessments. The School Based Counselor must possess a valid State of Ohio LPC, LSW, LISW, LPCC licensure.

Compensation details: 52000-70000 Yearly Salary
