Job Description

Overview:

The Revenue Cycle Manager reports to the Vice President of Finance and is responsible for providing supervisory oversight and management of all revenue cycle activities including claims processing, revenue monitoring and quality improvement initiatives, with a goal of maximizing reimbursement in a cost-effective manner that is in compliance with federal, state and payer-specific billing requirements.

Responsibilities:
  • Performs overall revenue management including satisfying timely filing requirements, maximizing billing revenue and collections, and resolution of denied/rejected claims
  • Supervise the billing and reconciliation of NY, Self-Directed Services and NJ Medicaid programs including other funding sources such as OPWDD and Social Security Supplemental billing
  • Upload weekly remittances for NY, NJ, and Self-Directed Services from the billing portal
  • Collaborate weekly with the treasury and revenue cycle management team to ensure correct application of cash to claims/AR accounts
  • Monitor A/R aging and payment reports monthly to identify trends and underpayments; investigate causes and take appropriate steps toward resolution using professional judgment
  • Analyze AR balance to prepare annual write-offs and reserves
  • Follow-up on denied and unpaid claims and take appropriate action to correct and re-bill for reimbursement
  • Collaborate with the Accounting Manager to prepare weekly cash flow
  • Prepare monthly Borrowing Base Certificate (BBC) reports for review and signature of the VP of Finance
  • Communicates and works with external auditors regarding revenue and AR requests
  • Identifies and resolves system issues through direct contact with payors and software vendors
  • Performs regular audits of daily billing reports to identify billing errors. Work with billing specialists and other CFS staff to address; notify on-site management of problems and troubleshoot as needed
  • Provides monthly updates of revenue cycle status including reports, metrics, and presentations. Works with other finance team as needed
  • With other members of the management team, develop continuous process and priorities for quality improvement to improve revenue cycle outcomes
  • Handle and be knowledgeable of all software utilized in the management of operations related to revenue
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, and other activities
  • Oversees, supervises, and coordinates work of the NY and NJ billing staff
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in a business or related field; accounting preferred
  • 5+ years of billing and/or accounting experience
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Excellent computer skills including working with Excel. Sage Intacct System experience is a plus
  • Demonstrates accountability, integrity, professionalism, openness, receptive to change, creativity and innovative
