Project Feasibility Analyst (Salary Range: $80,000 - 85,000)

LHH - Hybrid in Austin, TX

LHH is seeking a Project Feasibility Analyst for a client in the natural gas infrastructure industry, located in Austin, TX. This role will focus on assessing the economic, technical, and regulatory feasibility of proposed capital projects, collaborating across multiple departments to deliver actionable insights that drive strategic decisions.

In addition to holding a bachelor's degree in finance, engineering, economics, or a related field, the ideal candidate will have at least three years of experience in project analysis, strong financial modeling skills, and a background in the energy or utilities sector. Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough feasibility studies for new infrastructure initiatives such as pipeline expansions and storage developments.
  • Build and interpret detailed financial models to assess key project metrics like ROI, IRR, NPV, and payback period.
  • Partner closely with engineering teams to evaluate technical project specifications and identify any constraints.
  • Research and analyze regulatory requirements, environmental factors, and permitting processes to ensure project compliance.
  • Deliver well-organized risk assessments and recommend mitigation strategies to support successful project execution.
  • Monitor industry trends, technological advancements, and regulatory changes to maintain market competitiveness.
  • Prepare clear, data-driven presentations for senior leadership and various stakeholders.
  • Support broader strategic planning efforts by identifying opportunities to improve operational efficiencies and drive growth.
  • Assist in the preparation of competitive analysis reports and client-facing materials.
  • Take on additional duties and ad-hoc projects as needed.

Client Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, engineering, economics, business, or a closely related field (master’s degree preferred).
  • Minimum of three years of experience conducting project feasibility analysis, financial modeling, or business planning, ideally within the energy or utilities sectors.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe Acrobat, and data visualization software such as Power BI or Tableau.
  • Exceptional analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities, with a sharp eye for detail.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must reside within the greater Austin, TX metro area; relocation assistance is not available.
  • Preferred experience working with regulatory bodies such as FERC, PHMSA, or state utility commissions.
  • Familiarity with natural gas infrastructure projects and tools like ArcGIS, CAD, and image editing software is a plus.
