Key Responsibilities:
Develop Engaging Lessons: Create and deliver comprehensive lesson plans that align with established curriculum and learning objectives, ensuring students grasp both theoretical knowledge and practical skills.
Teach Core Topics: Provide instruction on essential subjects, including medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, clinical procedures, patient care, and medical office administration.
Demonstrate Best Practices: Model proper techniques, safety standards, and ethical behavior in medical assisting, fostering professionalism in your students.
Foster an Inclusive Environment: Create a supportive, engaging classroom atmosphere where students feel encouraged to participate and grow.
Provide Hands-On Training: Supervise laboratory sessions, simulations, and clinical practice to help students gain real-world experience.
Evaluate Student Progress: Use evaluations, exams, and practical assessments to monitor learning and provide constructive feedback that supports student growth.
Support Individual Needs: Identify and address students' unique learning challenges, offering additional guidance where needed.
Stay Current: Keep up with the latest medical practices, technologies, and industry trends to ensure instruction remains relevant and up-to-date.
Collaborate and Improve: Work with colleagues to enhance the curriculum, contribute to program development, and participate in initiatives that improve teaching outcomes.
Maintain a Safe Space: Ensure classrooms and labs are clean, organized, and meet safety standards.
Mentor Students: Serve as a role model and resource, offering guidance to students as they prepare for their future careers.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent (required).
Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) credentials (preferred).
Minimum of 3 years of professional experience as a practicing medical assistant.
Prior teaching or training experience in medical assisting or healthcare education (highly desirable).
Strong knowledge of medical assisting principles, practices, and industry standards.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively convey complex concepts.
Patience, enthusiasm, and a genuine passion for mentoring future medical assistants.
Strong organizational and time management abilities to handle multiple responsibilities.
Proficiency with instructional technology and multimedia teaching tools.
Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) and medical office software.
Commitment to fostering a diverse and inclusive learning environment.
Competence with basic computer skills.
