WEB DEVELOPER

Coldwater Creek & Soft Surroundings are seeking a talented and experienced Front-End UI/UX Web Developer with expertise in BigCommerce or Shopify to join our dynamic e-commerce development team. As a Front-End eCommerce Developer, you will play a crucial role in creating and optimizing engaging, responsive, and high-performance online store experiences on the BigCommerce platform. You will work closely with our design and product teams to implement custom widgets, features, and functionality that enhance the overall user experience.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Deep expertise and hands-on experience with Web Applications and programming languages such as HTML, CSS3, SASS, and JavaScript.
• Develop and implement front-end web code and design (UI/UX) standards by writing clean, semantic code.
• Continuously monitor and improve website performance including load times, accessibility/ADA, and overall user experience.
• Develop custom functionality and integrate third-party apps, APIs, and services into the BigCommerce platform.
• Further develop and customize the capabilities of the snap react integration used to merchandise the website.
• Manage the successful deployment of staging environment to production via GitHub and staging Pro.
• Other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS

• 2+ years’ work experience as a front-end UI/UX web developer with an eCommerce or Direct to Consumer business.
• Strong background with HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript.
• BA/BS degree in information technology, marketing, or similar field.
• Exposure and experience to UI/UX best practices.
• BigCommerce or Shopify platform experience is a tremendous plus.
• Familiarity with templating languages and/or knowledge of Handlebars a plus.
• Prior experience in Stencil or Liquid and front matter welcomed
• Comfortability working with Storefront APIs, Stencil util-APIs, GraphQL, API Integrations, Facebook Conversion API , Google Data Layer, etc.
• Basic knowledge of Search Engine Optimization a plus.
• Strong organizational, problem solving, and analytical skills to multi-task within the constraints of timelines and budgets.
• Ability to monitor all stages of the development process to identify potential problems and provide feedback to improve overall quality.
• Experience with bug tracking systems (Jira, Monday, etc.)
• Understanding employee may work outside standard working hours for bi-monthly updates and emergency issues.
• Ability to adapt and pick up new techniques, work and thrive in a fast-paced environment, learn rapidly and master diverse web technologies and techniques.
• Familiarity with PIMs such as Salsify, Search; Merch tools such as SearchSpring, Ratings; Review tools such as Yotpo.
• Experience with video, images GIFs for optimization and performance.
• Understanding of website performance KPIs and conversion optimization skills are a plus.
• Continuous learning and adaptability.
• Must be able to read, write and speak English fluently.
