The Job:

As a Foreign-Trade Zone Coordinator, you’ll be part of our Fort Mill team working as an on-site employee. The FTZ Coordinator works with FTZ Manager, DC and Manufacturing Personnel in receiving, shipping, and inventory control, manufacturing, transportation, IT, and Finance, as well as the Trade Compliance team, outside customs broker, and FTZ software provider.

This position will also support an I/T implementation project for Hagerstown DC and I/T project implementations of new FTZs as needed. The FTZC should be familiar with receiving, inventory control and have an understanding of manufacturing (inverted tariffs), as well as domestic and export shipping. The FTZC will need to have knowledge of Foreign Trade Zones Board regulations, and Customs regulations, and how these apply to FTZ operations. The FTZC must be aware of all aspects of operating a zone. You’ll get to:

  • Manage/process daily Admissions into the FTZ (CF214) and weekly 3461 and 7501 filings.
  • Retrieve and print Shipping documents from the Internet (Cargo Manager) or email to support Daily Zone Admissions.
  • Ensure product movements into and out of the zone are properly accounted for in Customs filings.
  • Perform daily inventory reconciliation between SAP and our FTZ software & work with warehouse and within MRP software to troubleshoot discrepancies.
  • Work alongside our FTZ Manager to support an FTZ software Implementation for the Hagerstown DC & actively support any new FTZ implementations as needed.
  • Manage exports from the FTZ (CF7512), maintain FTZ files and retain FTZ records as required by Customs law.
  • Provide quarterly Harbor Maintenance Fee payments.
  • Perform and participate in quarterly internal audits of Zone operations and report results to management.
  • Electronic weekly backup of FTZ Files.

  • Strong computer skills (MS Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) & Advanced computer aptitude with ability to work in and between various systems highly desirable.
  • At least 2 years of trade compliance experience; FTZ administration experience and/or a Licensed Customs Broker desirable
  • Bachelor's degree (preferred).
  • SAP, IP FTZ, WMS.net software knowledge extremely beneficial.
  • Knowledge of distribution, transportation, warehousing, manufacturing operations.
