Position Overview  

We are seeking Field Technicians/Engineers with hands-on experience in electrical or mechanical systems to join our team. In this role, you will be directly responsible for the installation, integration, and troubleshooting of advanced data and communication systems on rail vehicles. This position is ideal for individuals with technical expertise, attention to detail, and a commitment to quality and safety. The role is based in Los Angeles, CA, and candidates must either reside in the area or be willing to relocate. 

Key Responsibilities  

System Installation and Integration  

• Perform on-site installation of advanced data and communication systems on rail vehicles. 
• Assemble, wire, and connect electrical and mechanical components as per technical drawings and specifications. 
• Ensure proper alignment, configuration, and calibration of systems to meet project requirements. 

System Testing and Troubleshooting  

• Conduct system tests to verify functionality and ensure compliance with technical standards. 
• Identify and resolve issues during installation and testing phases, minimizing delays and ensuring operational readiness. 
• Collaborate with engineering teams to implement corrective actions for any technical challenges. 

Documentation and Reporting  

• Maintain detailed records of installation processes, test results, and troubleshooting activities. 
• Report progress, issues, and resolutions to the Site Installation Manager. 
• Assist in preparing system validation records. 

Safety and Compliance  

• Adhere to safety protocols and industry standards throughout all phases of installation and testing. 
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies. 

Qualifications and Skills  

Education  

• Associate’s degree or technical diploma in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. 
• Equivalent hands-on experience in lieu of formal education will be considered. 

Experience  

• Hands-on experience in electrical or mechanical system installation, preferably in rail, automotive, or heavy equipment industries. 
• Experience with wiring, cable management, and system integration is highly desirable. 

Technical Skills  

• Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings, schematics, and installation manuals. 
• Familiarity with electrical and mechanical components, including connectors, wiring harnesses, and fasteners. 
• Basic knowledge of communication systems and IoT devices is a plus. 
• Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills. 

Soft Skills  

• Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving capabilities. 
• Strong communication skills for effective coordination with team members and supervisors. 
• Ability to work under pressure and adapt to dynamic project requirements. 

Other Requirements  

• Willingness to work on-site in Los Angeles, CA, and travel as needed for project assignments. 
• Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and test equipment (e.g., multimeters, Fluke). 
• Ability to work in confined spaces and comply with safety regulations.
