Job Description

Kemco Trucking is a locally-based carrier seeking a dedicated Dispatch to coordinate daily deliveries and pick-ups for our customers. This is a supervisory position overseeing up to 15 local drivers who report to our facility every morning and return each evening. The ideal candidate must have a strong understanding of DOT compliance and a passion for efficient, professional operations.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Ensure all customer needs and commitments are met
• Dispatch and manage up to 15 drivers using company phone and email
• Maintain compliance with all DOT regulations
• Notify drivers of assignments and direct their daily activities
• Track and document shipment information and required paperwork
• Update dispatch database and Crown Freight Manager with all movements
• Analyze assignments to create the most efficient routes
• Monitor GPS and assess driver locations and on-time performance
• Perform data entry, answer phones, and manage email correspondence
• Upload delivery paperwork and other documents into logistics software
• Handle other clerical and operational tasks as assigned

SKILLS/ABILITIES

• Strong knowledge of Chicagoland and surrounding areas
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Accurate typing and data entry capabilities
• Basic math proficiency (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division)
• Professional and prompt client response
• Ability to read, comprehend, and complete checklists, forms, and documentation
• Problem-solving skills and ability to take initiative
• Physical ability to lift/move up to 50 lbs; good vision and depth perception required

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• High School Diploma or GED required
• 1–3 years of relevant experience in dispatch, logistics, or transportation
• Prior supervisory or team leadership experience preferred
• Industry experience (1 year minimum) strongly preferred

AVAILABLE SHIFT

• 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM (Full-Time, Salary Position)
