We are working with a dynamic and rapidly growing industrial company dedicated to providing high-performance products within the petrochemical processing, biotechnology, pharmaceutical and industrial sectors. We are seeking a highly qualified and motivated professional to join our leadership team as the Director of Operations .

As Director of Operations , you will oversee and optimize the end-to-end manufacturing operations for our three sites involved in manufacturing products for the Cryogenic market. Your leadership will be pivotal in ensuring our operations meet the highest standards of quality, safety, and efficiency while delivering on our customer commitments. This is an opportunity to work with advanced processes, contributing to the production of critical, highly engineered solutions that enable innovation in essential industries.
The business is experiencing rapid growth through both organic expansion and strategic acquisitions. You will be responsible for integration activities and day-to-day operations of newly acquired sites, ensuring a seamless integration experience for the business, associates, and implementation of the Crane Business System.
You will lead a talented team, driving operational improvements, fostering a culture of collaboration, and aligning operations with strategic business goals while ensuring your sites meet and exceed customer expectations. You'll be tasked to deliver on internal commitments in the areas of Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost across manufacturing processes, customer service, and supply chain groups.
This role requires a dynamic leader with a strong track record in manufacturing excellence, continuous improvement, team development, and natural curiosity to engage in the details at your sites likely traveling about 50% of the time.



Director of Operations Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Planning: Develop and implement operational strategies to achieve excellence in manufacturing highly engineered products. Align operational initiatives with organizational goals and customer needs to support the company's growth
  • Process Improvement: Identify and implement operational improvements to improve service levels, enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and increase overall productivity. Work with site teams to develop continuous improvement road maps to deliver significant benefits consistent with Crane Business System.
  • Team Leadership: Provide strong leadership to the operations team, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement. Execute the intellectual capital process of performance management and talent development to create a high-performance organization
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Engage with the Commercial and Engineering teams to work cross-functionally to improve customer satisfaction. Work closely with other departments such as finance, marketing, and human resources to ensure alignment and synergy across the organization
  • Performance Metrics: Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track operational performance and identify areas for improvement. Meet financial commitments in the annual operations plan
  • Resource Management: Effectively manage resources, including personnel, budgets, and equipment, to meet operational goals
  • People Development: Work with the Intellectual Capital Process and succession planning to ensure development associates within the organization. Provide opportunities for developmental and promotional growth assignments and project activity
  • Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure that the company operates in compliance with all relevant regulations and manage operational risks effectively
  • Technology Integration: Evaluate and implement technological solutions to enhance operational efficiency and stay current with industry trends



Director of Operations Requirements:

  • 10+ years' leadership experience within a manufacturing environment
  • BA/BS degree in engineering discipline; MS/MBA preferred
  • Proven experience in managing a large site in a Site Leader capacity, with 100 plus associates
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to make timely, effective fact-based decisions
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated business acumen relevant to operational growth
  • Knowledge of relevant technology and tools for operations management
  • Demonstrated ability to develop high performing work teams
  • Hands on ability to work with Site Leaders and their leadership teams
  • Direct experience with implementing process improvements (lean) and optimizing operational workflows (Value Stream Mapping, Standard Work, Kaizen Leadership, Kanban, 5S, etc.)
  • Excellent leadership and team management abilities
