CNC Lathe Machinist

Day Shift (Direct Hire)

Fairfield, OH

We are seeking a highly skilled CNC Lathe Machinist who can program from scratch and is experienced with Mazak machines and the Mazatrol control system . The ideal candidate will be responsible for setting up, programming, and operating CNC lathes to produce precision metal parts according to engineering specifications. This role requires strong attention to detail, a solid understanding of machining principles, and the ability to work independently.

Key Responsibilities:

• Program CNC lathes from scratch using Mazatrol and/or G-code.
• Set up, tear down, and operate Mazak CNC lathes , including tooling selection, machine adjustments, and work holding.
• Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and work instructions.
• Verify dimensions of finished parts using precision measuring tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers, gauges).
• Perform in-process inspection and make necessary adjustments to maintain tight tolerances.
• Troubleshoot and resolve machining and programming issues.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to company and OSHA safety standards.
• Collaborate with engineering and production teams to optimize machining processes.
• Maintain machine logs and documentation related to production and maintenance.

Qualifications:

• 3+ years of hands-on experience as a CNC Lathe Machinist.
• Proven ability to program from scratch , especially with Mazatrol and Mazak CNC machines .
• Strong understanding of blueprint reading, GD&T, and machining principles.
• Experience with a variety of materials, including stainless steel, aluminum, and exotic alloys.
• Skilled in using precision measuring instruments.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• High school diploma or GED required; technical training or certifications preferred.
