Starr Hollow Golf Club, a private 9-hole Joe Finger-designed golf course located on a 3,800-acre cattle ranch in Tolar, Texas, invites a dynamic couple to serve as Managers and Caretakers . This unique position combines the charm of rural Texas with the prestige of managing Texas’s #1 ranked 9-hole course for 29 years (Dallas Morning News).

• Tolar, Texas (1 hour from DFW, 25 minutes from Granbury and Stephenville)
• Course features include 9-hole course with dual tees and flags for an 18-hole experience, 90-acre lake centerpiece, and Large Bermuda greens
• Small member-base that caters to member satisfaction

Position Overview

The management couple will oversee the golf operations and clubhouse, supported by nine employees, a Director of Agronomy, and additional consultants. Onsite residence is required, with a home, utilities, health insurance, and related amenities provided.

Key Responsibilities

Golf Operations :

• Prepare and stage golf carts and tournaments
• Oversee maintenance schedules and daily golf activities
• Supervise and coordinate with staff to ensure high-quality service

Clubhouse Management :

• Daily clubhouse cleaning, cooking, and serving members and guests
• Bookkeeping: track daily sales, expenditures, and required reports (TCEQ, Dept. of Agriculture, etc.)

Property Maintenance :

• Perform light maintenance on property houses and facilities
• Arrange professional services for repairs with owner approval
• Assist with supervision of groundskeeping activities and chemical applications

Staff Oversight :

• Collaborate with the golf course superintendent and agronomy consultant
• Review and approve staff timecards and assist with payroll coordination
• Manage and supervise a team of full-time and part-time employees

Requirements

• TABC and Food Handler certifications (can be obtained after hiring)
• Private applicator license (chemical-TDA) and Food Manager certification
• Experience in golf course management and familiarity with golf operations preferred
• Basic knowledge of computerized irrigation systems (training available)

Compensation

• Salary : $60,000 - $80,000 combined, negotiable

Schedule :

• Tuesdays and one additional weekday off each week
• Alternating weekends off, with additional weekdays to offset weekend work
