The company was founded in Bethesda, MD in 2013, to bring fresh, made-from-scratch organic breads, pastries, sweets, and croissant items inspired by bakeries in France to the DMV area. We have expanded to seven retail locations, two production bakeries, and a thriving wholesale business. We serve coffee shops, restaurants, hotels, and grocery stores with fresh products every day, 365 days a year.

About The Role

We are seeking an enthusiastic and customer-focused Barista to join our Fresh Baguette Mclean (6707 Old Dominion Dr #115, McLean, VA 22101). In this full-time, hourly position, you will bring a passion for coffee and bread to create an exceptional experience for our customers while upholding Fresh Baguette"s core values. As a Barista, you will be working in a collaborative and fast-paced environment, ensuring customer satisfaction through excellent service, crafting quality beverages, and maintaining the store's cleanliness and organization.

Shifts:

• Our shifts typically start as early as 6AM and end at 7PM, 7 days per week.
• Morning shifts: 6AM-1PM
• Afternoon shifts: 9AM-4PM
• Closing shifts: 1PM-7PM
• 6-8 hour shift
• 5 Days a week including Saturday and Sunday

What You"ll Do

• Provide friendly and prompt customer service to all patrons.
• Become an expert on Fresh Baguette menu offerings, including coffee, sandwiches, salads, baked goods, breads, and pastries.
• Follow standard recipes to prepare and serve beverages and food items with precision and care.
• Handle cash and credit transactions efficiently and accurately at the register in a fun and engaging manner.
• Maintain the safety, sanitation, and proper food storage standards of the store.
• Serve as a key contributor in addressing and resolving customer complaints in a professional manner.
• Pay close attention to the presentation of products and the overall cleanliness of the store throughout the day.
• Assist with cleaning, prepping, and closing the store for the next business day.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of experience in a retail or customer service role, ideally in a coffee shop or bakery environment.
• A passion for coffee and baked goods, coupled with a willingness to learn and grow.
• A warm and inviting presence that makes customers and team members feel valued.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills and a customer-focused attitude.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks efficiently.
• Proficiency in handling cash and credit transactions accurately.
• Attention to detail in maintaining store cleanliness and product presentation.

Requirements

• Authorization to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
• Open availability to work a variety of shifts, including weekends & mornings/afternoons
• Availability to work on Holidays - Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years, etc.
• Physical exertion requirement to perform heavy work (such as frequent lifting or carrying of objects weighing up to 50 pounds)
• Strong communication skills
• Reliable transportation to work
• Ability to stand for 8 hours
• Experience working as a barista is a plus
