Job Posting: Animal Care Associate

Location: Stillwell, Kansas

Position Type: Temp to Perm

Pay : Up to 20 dollars per hour

Position Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated Animal Care Associate to join our client, a global pharmaceutical company. In this role, you will learn and perform essential tasks to ensure the care and welfare of research animals. Responsibilities include animal husbandry, handling, feeding, and monitoring health, while maintaining high standards of documentation and compliance. This is an excellent opportunity for those passionate about animal welfare and interested in contributing to meaningful research.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide humane care and welfare for all animals through gentle, positive interactions.
• Perform basic animal care tasks, including handling, restraint, housing maintenance, feeding, and body weight measurements.
• Collect, document, review, and verify data in accordance with quality control and regulatory standards.
• Operate and maintain equipment and instrumentation.
• Adhere to safety protocols, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Ensure compliance with GLP, SOP, BOP, and IACUC guidelines.
• Participate in overtime, weekend, holiday, and after-hours shift coverage, as needed.
• Other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Education: High school diploma or G.E.D. preferred.
• Experience: No prior experience required; training provided.

Skills:

• Strong verbal and written communication.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
• Basic computer proficiency (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite).
• Commitment to maintaining a safe and compliant work environment.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift and manipulate objects up to 50 pounds.
• Capable of standing or sitting for extended periods and performing fine motor tasks.
• Must meet vision requirements, including close vision and depth perception.

Work Environment:

• Exposure to research environments, including live animals, allergens, zoonotic diseases, and biohazards.
• Work with sharp objects, mechanical equipment, and potentially hazardous chemicals.
• Noise levels vary depending on the housed species.
